The Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, Jobs Creation Commission is established as per proclamation 1097/2018 which determines the powers and duties of the executive organs. Subsequently, the regulation 435/2018 promulgated by the council of ministers mandated the commission with the authority to lead the job creation agenda, coordinate stakeholders, monitor and evaluate performance.

Commissioner, Jobs Creation Commission

Nigussu Tilahun Gebreamanuel

Nigussu Tilahun Gebreamanuel is the Commissioner for the Jobs Creation Commission, the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia. Prior to being appointed to his current role, he served as Head of the Press Secretariat at the Office of the FDRE Prime Minister. He comes from an extensive education-focused background starting from teaching at Primary and Secondary Schools to Leading regional education bureaus in Amhara Region. He also served as head of Government Communication Affairs Office in Amhara Region.

Born and raised in Arsi, Nigussu received his Bachelor’s Degree in Geography from Addis Abeba University and his Master’s Degree in Educational Psychology from Bahirdar University. He has also acquired a Post-graduate Diploma in School Leadership from the Addis Abeba Unversity.

Nigussu is a seasoned civil servant and heavily involved in high-level public governance. Previously, he was a member of the central committee of the Amhara National Democratic Movement (ANDM) and Executive Committee of the former Amhara Democratic Party (ADP). As it stands, he is also serving the government in executive roles and as a board member in education institutions as well as media outlets.
